7 of the most romantic Hill Country Venues in austin

As we’ve expanded Storybook into central Texas, we’ve come across some absolutely stunning wedding venues that are right up our couple’s alley.

Our typical Storybook couple loves timeless design, a romantic setting and as much of an outdoor experience for their guests as possible (during the summer in Chicago of course).

So during our venue search in Austin we came across seven venues that offered all of this. Today we are excited to share with you, 7 Hill Country Austin Wedding Venues.

From the Camp Lucy Website: “Nestled on an idyllic Hill Country ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas, Camp Lucy has become the ultimate luxury getaway at the start of the Texas Wine Trail and the premier wedding venue in Central Texas. With luxury accommodations, world-class services, and gorgeous venues, Camp Lucy is a breathtaking hidden treasure only minutes west of Austin.”

With the word’s “wine trail”, “luxury accommodations” and “breathtaking”….we were sold!

Camp Lucy has five unique spaces all on one site. It’s made up of

Ian’s Chapel

Ian’s Chapel features a restored 19th century French colonial chapel and antique bell from Vietnam, a majestic Events Hall created from a repurposed 1800’s Amish barn originally built from hand-hewn white oak timbers in Ohio and a dramatic, open-air Pavilion made from the ironwood timbers of a 1930’s French Colonial church and a Ludowici tile roof repurposed from the Bexar County courthouse in downtown San Antonio. The Great Lawn and the Stone Arch provide breathtaking outdoor ceremony site options. The old world-style brick paved courtyard, lavish Great Lawn and Chef-inspired catering kitchen make this venue the hallmark of Camp Lucy. Complementary on-site event spaces include an enchanting bridal lounge and handsome groom’s quarters.” – Camp Lucy

Sacred Oaks

The ancient oaks themselves are the venue’s stars as their grand trunks and elegant, twisting branches are thoughtfully enveloped with thousands of perfect, tiny lights, creating a truly magical ceremony site. Sacred Oaks features a Great Hall with dramatic timbers, spacious porch perfect for cocktails and Hill Country sunsets, separate green rooms for each side of the weddings party, built-in bar in the reception hall, chef-inspired catering kitchen, and lush great lawn that can be tented. This venue also features a soaring bell tower, separate from the Great Hall structure, for ringing in the arrival of the newlyweds.” – Camp Lucy

Whit’s Inn

“Camp Lucy’s more intimate luxe-rustic venue, Whit’s Inn, combines a relaxed yet chic design aesthetic with world-class cuisine and service. The venue is a brilliantly re-purposed barn nestled near flowing Onion Creek, surrounded by lush, mature trees dripping with lights. Inside, barn wood walls, picture windows, Old World brick paver floor, and a memorable dancehall-style bar set the stage for your unforgettable event with all of Camp Lucy’s signature design touches. Conveniences such as two separate green rooms and an onsite kitchen give couples the perfect place for more cozy celebrations. An outdoor patio, canopied by lush oak trees, overlook the banks of Onion Creek provide additional space to take advantage of the gorgeous views of the property’s rolling hills.” – Camp Lucy

The Vineyard

Drink up the romance of the Texas Wine Country at Camp Lucy’s newest venue. Nestled within the resort’s working vineyard, this venue space includes a permanent, 88-foot Savannah Sperry Tent, breathtaking bistro-lit aisle and tree-covered ceremony site. Relish in the magic of an outdoor vineyard wedding with the luxury of Camp Lucy service and reception amenities including two private hospitality suites and guest restroom.” – Camp Lucy

Mr. Kiem’s

Whether serving as a hospitality suite for family, cozy cocktail hour or an intimate reception dinner, the Tillie’s Restaurant private dining room, Mr. Kiem’s is the ideal space to gather and celebrate. This space can accommodate up to 20 guests.” – Camp Lucy

Canyonwood Ridge

“Canyonwood Ridge is a Hill Country Wedding and Events venue in the Austin area, located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Austin in the “Wedding Capital of Texas” of Dripping Springs.

The 12,000 square foot venue sits on a ridge top wrapped in oak trees with scenic hill country views and was designed specifically for weddings.  The outdoor ceremony site, as well as the indoor Chapel, offer planning flexibility and picturesque backdrops for a wedding of up to 300.  The Chapel enables an indoor ceremony to protect against the unpredictable weather in central Texas, and is adjacent to our large Reception Hall, in order to provide a seamless transition from ceremony to reception.

Canyonwood Ridge is unique and romantic with its dramatic views and Hill Country elegance, but maintains a balance of simplicity and flexibility for couples to plan their perfect day.” – From Canyonwood Ridge
