Good Morning Lovelies,
Wow! I have had quite the past several days! After my trip to the Social Security Office last Thursday, I had a day filled with picking up rental items from some of my favorite vendors, Halls Rental Service and BBJ Linen! I am not sure if I have mentioned this via the blog yet, but I have been planning and designing a holiday table. I finally executed it this past weekend! It was so much fun and I can’t wait to share the photos and story behind my inspiration with you. Here are a few photos below as a sneak peek.
Thursday not only consisted of errand running, but also included some fun and creativity as well. Our Senior Planner, Lindsay Gaeta and I attended a calligraphy workshop hosted by none other than ‘Simply Jessica Marie´. We sipped some bubbly, (although I stuck with sparkling water due to my little boy whom is still growing in my belly) and we wrote the night away at Armitage St.’s newest bridal boutique, Alice in Ivory.
We really do love the event industry. Who else can say that they used a cocktail and calligraphy class as a way to continue growing their creativity skills while growing relationships with other fabulous and inspiring vendors in the event community? It’s really possible to have the dream job, loves! Lindsay and I could have literally stayed the whole night learning and chatting away with the other ladies but after almost four hours and some sleepy eyes approaching, we had to head home. Thanks for your fabulous workshops, Jessica! We cannot wait until you come and visit Chicago again!
To wrap up my note to you all, if I could recommend anything to you ladies and men trying to further your career in the event industry, I wholeheartedly recommend joining an Event Professionals Organization. I am a member of the National Association for Catering & Events (NACE) and cannot tell you how much it has done for my personal growth and for Storybook. I always make sure to attend as many educational events as possible and build my relationships with other industry leaders whom are a part of this group. After constant commitment and effort, I am now involved with them further as their Social Media Chair. Who would have thought that social media would be such a huge part of business growth? I spent Friday with the new board planning for the next year and setting up our goals. Let’s just say, 2016 is going to be amazing! I cannot wait to share all that we have in store. If you would like more info on NACE, feel free to contact me at nicole@storybookchicago.com. I would love to invite you to attend an event and hopefully welcome you to our NACE Family.
Well friends, my train is approaching its stop as I head to our Tuesday Storybook Meeting. Looking forward to catching up with you all this weekend and showcasing our fabulous Thanksgiving Tablescape photos.
XOXO- Nicole
