Storybook Styled Shoots: Thanksgiving Table

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope you all had a love filled thanksgiving and a relaxing few days off! I have to say that this weekend has definitely been a fun one for me! It’s been filled with good food, lots of laughs, a bit of shopping, the start of holiday movie watching and a bit of a break from work. Before we all fall into the Christmas spirit, (if we haven’t already..) I want to share with you, the beautiful thanksgiving table that we styled last weekend.

I am a big fan of the holidays and for probably similar reasons as you. I cannot get enough of sitting by the fire, listening to football on the TV, cozying up in some fuzzy socks (I say that as I type this in my new Anthropologie snuggly robe! – Black Friday Deal) drinking hot chocolate, oh the list goes on! But one of my favorites is being able to incorporate these holiday feelings with décor! I love decorating and enhancing my home with things that remind me of the season. This year, I decided to do a styled shoot for the thanksgiving table! However, I didn’t want to go with the traditional deep reds, warm browns and sharp oranges alone. I wanted to brighten up the dining room with some softer colors. I decided that my color palette would consist of soft whites, muted golds, greys with hints of silver and just a sprinkle of the traditional fall colors, and a bit of mint too!

After a few weeks of planning out the design, including researching the perfect silverware from Halls Rental to go with our china, and incorporating some beautiful linen from BBJ, it came time to nail down the decor. I knew that I wanted to use the beautiful pillar candles that we have in our Storybook inventory, but I still needed a couple stunning floral pieces to tie everything together. On my Saturday trip to the wholesaler, I picked up cream roses and spray roses, berzelia and eucalyptus gunnii, lotus pods and dried yellow yarrow. It was a slow trek through the snow as we had quite a big snowstorm during the day, but I definitely didn’t mind it! It put me in the holiday mood and provided some AMAZING natural light for our photos.

When I got home, prep time began and finally, a few hours later, I had two gorgeous centerpieces and a beautifully put together table. I hope you enjoy the photos below. It was definitely one of my favorite weekends since our last 2015 wedding in October.
