Chicago Venue Spotlight: Venue Six10

With countless venues for couples to choose from in Chicago, the thought of visiting them all is more than overwhelming. Our Venue Spotlight Series we will give you a overview of the many venues throughout Chicago and the Chicagoland Suburbs.

Venue Six10 is located across the street from Grant Park on the famous Michigan Avenue. It offers a full wall with floor to ceiling glass windows that out looks a gorgeous view of the park and Lake Michigan.  It is a very modern, sleek space that is filled with endless possibilities and a ton of potential for creating a stunning event.

In most cases, the Management of VenueSIX10 would recommend renting both the 9th floor as well as the 10th floor.  The 10th floor functions as an atrium of sorts that looks over the large event space on floor 9.  It can be utilized as the dinner space or can accommodate more guests for a larger cocktail style reception.

Specifications

Seated, this space can accommodate 350 people, where a standing reception on the 9th floor can hold around 500. Also, keep in mind that this space is one of the more reasonable rentals for its size around the downtown area. An average a space that accommodates 250+ seated in the city runs around $9-12K for rental on a Saturday. This space, however, closer to 6.5-8K depending on the season. What a steal! The venue also includes a lot of equipment, which is a big cost savings in the end. This venue does have a preferred catering list with a wide variety of amazing caterers.

Aside from their great rates, stunning views, and top caterers, one of our favorite reasons for choosing VenueSIX10 is because the venue is a blank canvas. We love the idea of using lighting design to enhance the space because of all of the white walls. Adding up-lighting in different colors can totally change the feel of the room as well as vibrant tablescapes. If you are looking at showcasing a “City of Chicago” vibe, this is the place. The windows allow you to appreciate the many beautiful landmarks in our city, and if you happen to be there on a Wednesday or Saturday night between Memorial and Labor Day you have one of the best seats in the house for the Navy Pier fireworks!!!!!! VenueSIX10 is pretty spectacular if you ask us.
