Chicago Willis Tower Wedding

Chicago Wedding at Willis Tower Skydeck

It was a beautiful Chicago wedding at Willis Tower Skydeck. Jen and Vinh were our first Storybook couple where we had previously coordinated another wedding for one of their family members.  It was heartwarming to see familiar faces at their wedding and to revisit the Vietnamese wedding traditions that we had experienced with Vinh’s sister the summer before.

The morning began with hair and makeup at the Bride’s home, and Jen wore her Vietnamese “Ao dai” wedding dress accompanied by a khan dong, the headdress.  The color Red is thought of as a very lucky color, and “Wow” was she strikingly beautiful!

Following Vietnamese tradition, Vinh received Jen at her home that morning, and then Vinh brought Jen to his home.  At his home, we saw their two families exchange blessings, prayers, and gifts. We observed the tea and candle ceremonies. It was such an intimate and special time in their lives. It was an honor to be a part of it.

After a Luncheon catered by a local Vietnamese restaurant, the party then moved to Willis Tower (formerly known as The Sears Tower) where they had a Western ceremony with a larger group of guests. Held on the 66th floor, their ceremony space overlooked downtown Chicago with breathtaking views. Their flowers (minus the flowers for the bride and bridesmaids bouquets) were entirely comprised of baby’s breath!

It was such a sweet and lovely flower choice, matching the delicacy of Jen’s dress perfectly.

Not only are Jen and Vinh one of the most sincere couples that we have known, but they are also hip-with-it (man, I sound like I am 90 years old writing that)!  For example, Vinh surprised Jen with a self-written rap song which was quite entertaining.  He was accompanied by his groomsmen as backup dancers and hype men, lending to be one of the highlights of the night!  It definitely was viral-worthy ):

Congratulations, Jen and Vinh!
