THE JOURNAL

Kati and Wally

Kati was referred to us by one of our favorite Chicago caterers, whom she had actually previously worked for. Our initial consultation over coffee turned into Mimosas, and while chatting through wedding details and sharing stories about herself and her fiance, I knew that Kati would be great to work with.

It is hard for me to say what was more beautiful; their wedding ceremony held at St. Joseph Church in Wilmette, their reception held at the Chicago Cultural Center, or the bride!

Their church was absolutely stunning and reminiscent to me of the church in the Disney film, “Sleeping Beauty” (I admit,I have always had a mild obsession with that film, as Aurora is my favorite Disney princess).  The stained glass in St. Joseph created the most vibrant lighting for their ceremony.

Cocktail hour was held in the Chicago Cultural Center’s G.A.R. Hall.  A violinist played, accompanied by a pianist who performed on the Cultural Center’s upright piano.  The music sounded fabulous in the room while guests enjoyed cocktails. Guests were then invited upstairs to the Preston Bradley Hall for dinner, where they were greeted with champagne.

Wally and Kati chose to make a donation on behalf of their guests in lieu of a favor, and on their gift table we placed a large wooden piece for their guests to sign with white Sharpie paint pens.  On the wooden piece it read “Best Day Ever.”

After a fabulous dinner from Inspired Catering & Events, a full 10-piece orchestra amped up the energy, and it was time to dance!  Kati surprised her mother and her mother’s best friend with one of their favorite songs, “We are Family,” which immediately got all of their guests out of their chairs and dancing for the rest of the evening! It was such a beautiful wedding and we are so happy to have been a part of it. Thank you, Kati and Wally! We wish you many, many wonderful years of wedded bliss!

XOXO
