Meaningful traditions and elegant details were sprinkled throughout Kim and AJ’s wedding day and the sprinkling of the rain, which persisted all afternoon, was forgotten about with all the sweet emotions and beauty of the moment.

We began the morning at Kim’s family home where a traditional Vietnamese Ceremony took place. Close family and friends sat snuggly in the family room while the exchange of gifts and blessings were offered. As the newly united families shared new memories over lunch, the Storybook team went straight to work prepping for the second half of AJ and Kim’s big day.

The second ceremony was held at A New Leaf, a quaint floral shop in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. It has stunning rustic charm, original wood floors and beautiful brick walls. We hung up the couple’s homemade backdrop on two birch branches and prepped for a gorgeous reception catered by Berghoff Catering & Restaurant Group.

After dinner, the couple and their friends danced and celebrated their new beginning to the sounds of Cage+Aquarium. Although by the end of the evening, everyone’s feet were sore and were in need of some serious ice or frozen corn, Kim and AJ’s wedding was definitely a night to remember!
