In the heart of November Nicole and Bobby celebrated their gorgeous fall wedding at Galleria Marchetti. It was a perfectly big, Italian wedding celebration filled with laughter and joy from start to finish.
We began their design process by discussing their desired color palette. We landed on a stunning combination of federal blue, cranberry, blush, soft whites, varying greens, and a pop of metallic rose gold. It was warm and fall inspired with a pop of glam. In terms of overall aesthetic we wanted the event to feel warm and inviting with a garden-like elegance. We did this through a variety of textured blooms and organic shapes. We added elements of wood and rose gold throughout the design to enhance the details and tablescapes even more. It was important to them to have a few statement pieces throughout the evening and have the small nods to fall be tasteful and elevated. This drove not only the design elements but helped us in strategizing what vendors would be the best fit to make their vision come to life.
The day began with Nicole and her ladies getting ready at her childhood home. Where they sipped mimosas and were pampered by Gina Olivieto and Agata Hayes. Nicole was a breathtaking bride in her classic princess gown from Anne Barge.
She carried a textural bouquet filled with cranberry and white dahlias, garden roses privet berries and varying greens that complimented the crisp, fall day.
Bobby’s face lit up with so much happiness and emotion when he saw Nicole for the first time at their first look!
The reception followed the ceremony with the cocktail hour in the Pergola at Galleria Marchetti. Greeted by a hand calligraphed welcome sign and wooden Chicago flag for their guest book the guests immediately felt Nicole and Bobby’s personalities in the event. During the cocktail hour we had endless passed appetizers and a grand charcuterie display for guests to enjoy along with bubbly and old fashions.
Guests were then guided through the foyer of the space where we had a first statement piece of the evening, the escort card table. It was inspired by the idea of wanting to add birch into the design. It featured a custom built tree with twinkle lights and hanging tea lights with the escort cards lined up in cut birch logs. It was grand and stunning and had the guests commenting all night.
After finding their cards the guests walked into the impressive reception area. Life in Bloom truly outdid themselves when creating the space. It was a perfect balance between three different centerpiece looks, varying in height to make the room look visually interesting and filling the space in a creative and beautiful way. The first look was an elevated, grandiose arrangement filled with greens and fluffy blooms that drew the eye up without creating any visual impairment for guests while seated. The second look was low and lush in a compote bowl filled with the same textural blooms and surrounded by warm candlelight. The third look was more candle focused to add the intimate and romantic feel throughout the space with small floral cups mixed throughout. The head table was our second statement piece of the event. We used a beveled blush drape that framed Nicole and Bobby in from MDM Entertainment edged with a greenery garland. The head table itself had a lush garland with pops of rose gold votives and blooms. The place settings had hand calligraphed place cards on small white pumpkins in rose gold. The federal blue napkins provided a pop on the setting with the custom menus from Studio M Creations.
Like any Italian wedding food was of the utmost important, and it was in abundance. No one went hungry that is for sure!! The dinner was four courses with a salad course, pasta course, entree, and cake. Bittersweet designed their gorgeous, combed buttercream 4 tier cake with large blooms placed in clusters. We continued the use of birch in this element with the cake stand that had their initials carved into it. Then came the endless Italian sweets from the Sicilian Bakery. The personalized, oversized cannolis were the star of the sweets display. Oh and don’t forget the S’mores bar near the fire pits and the Chicago classics late night snacks.
Matt Stemand Band had everyone out on the dancefloor with a lot of big band classics to Bruno Mars and everything in between. When the guests weren’t dancing or eating they were sneaking away to use the photobooth from Shutterbooth and indulge in the cigar rolling bar.
As guests departed we had reutilized the escort card tables with the beautiful birch trees to be lined with their seasonal favors, gourmet caramel apples from Kilwins that the guests were drooling over!
One of our favorite moments in the night was when we did the room reveal. Nicole’s face was priceless as she swatted Bobby’s arm repeatedly saying “Oh my god, oh my god, it’s so beautiful” with the biggest smile on her face. Bobby just kept smiling and saying “wow” as he explored the room. We knew at that moment that their dream wedding had become a reality.
Their wedding was gorgeous from start to finish, and we hope you enjoy seeing all of the details captured by the incredibly talented Caitlin Lisa Photography. Nicole and Bobby are such a beautiful couple inside and out. We were honored to be a part of their planning journey!
